Although the primary structure and exterior appearance remains the same as the previous version, almost all the components have been redesigned to meet the expectations of all Chrysler enthusiasts.

Trims and Drive-Train

The new 300 series has come out in 4-model variants that include base, 300C, Limited, and 300C AWD. All models are available in rear-wheel drive body configuration, while 300C edition is available in all-wheel drive as well.

Under the Hood

2011 300 sedan is provided with two engine choices; the base and Limited editions are propelled by a standard 3.6 litre V6 power-train, which can pump out around 292 horsepower and torque of about 260 lb-feet. The power transmission is accomplished with standard 5-speed auto transmission system.

The 300C model is featured with a powerful 5.7 litre V8 drive-train that has the capability to churn out 363 hp and 394 pound-feet of torque, mated to the same 5-speed auto transmission system.

0-60 Time

During performance tests, we saw that it accelerated from 0 to 60 miles per hour in just 7.1 seconds. The maximum speed that can be achieved with this vehicle, is around 173 mph.

EPA Fuel Economy Rating

According to EPA, the base and Limited models are capable of achieving a fuel economy of around 18 mpg in cities, and 27 mpg on highways. The RWD 300C edition achieves a mileage of 16 mpg in the urban areas, and 25 mpg on the highway, while the AWD configuration provides 15/23 mpg in city/highways.

Close Competitors

2010 300C was not able to give a healthy competition to its rivals including the likes of Ford Taurus, Buick Lacrosse, and Toyota Avalon because of its not-so-great interior cabin. But, the new line-up has been furnished with plentiful luxury interior options that make it a worthy competitor in the luxury sedan category.

Pricing

2011 Chrysler 300 sedan is available with a MSRP that ranges from $27,170 to $31,170, which is fairly inexpensive compared to its rivals.

On the Whole

With an affordable price tag, refined interiors, decent gas mileage, and crunchy engine, new 300 sedan looks better than ever before, and it follows the league with 200c sibling boosting Chrysler’s chances of dominating the segment.
